Research Interests

I am a physician-scientist and pediatric oncologist, concentrating on developing multi-modal chemo-immunotherapy for children with brain cancer. In my molecular immunology Ph.D. training, I was part of the research team that first reported the groundbreaking discovery of the immune-suppressive potential of indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) in human cancer, and the team that developed indoximod, a small-molecule inhibitor of the IDO pathway used in this proposal. I am the co-founder and Co-Director of the Pediatric Immunotherapy Program at 51做厙, where I oversee clinical trial operations.
